Hello! I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. Life is very hectic with the move only 10 days away, packing still in progress and work pressure rising! Not to mention I'm trying to take photos of my place for my porfolio. I can't afford to have a profesional take them so I'm trying my hand at it. What do you think of the bedroom shots below? I need your help to make them better! I think I'm on the right track but feel the need to tailor the shots a bit more.
Please be constructive in your feedback (best time of day to take photos, best settings on a digital camera, things to move into place or take out, etc). It will help me greatly and be much appreciated. :)
I think I like the way the bed looks most in picture #2. I'm just not sure about the sun shining in at 6:15pm and how the pictures are slightly slanted.
p.s. These are not final. It was a test run to see how I should go about it for the final run. I will need to iron everything to get a crisp look.
(Please ask me to use any of my personal photos. Thanks.)
Ohh! A photography question. Love this type of stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe room itself is stunning. Hands down, gorgeous!
#3 and #4 are my favourite in terms of photography colour, the first two have too much yellow saturation in my opinion. And I'm not 100% in love with the slanted look.
My only tips for photography would be:
(1) Shoot in natural daylight and 100% avoid using a flash.
(2) Sit down and take photos - we often take photos staring down at things, so play around with camera placement. (Sit on a chair, stand on a chair, test out various angles)
Do you have a Manual setting on your camera? If so, go for this setting vs. the ever too easy standard setting. Shoot me an e-mail if you need some help with the photography settings.
Thank you so much for the advice and feedback Lindsay! I changed the light setting to more white for the last few photos because I didn't like the yellow look of the first few pictures. I will be taking more shots Fri afternoon so stay tuned for more questions. Haha!
ReplyDeleteAmazing space! It looks like it is right out of a magazine. I really like the nightstand with the beautiful flowers.
