A quote and aromatic idea to get us through the day...

For those of you who are having a frustrating Friday (like me) this quote from quotable cards is for you.  ''If you're going through hell, keep going..'' Churchill.  We're almost done our work week!!!

Whenever I feel blue, sad, frustrated or mad I browse through pictures of beautiful rooms, art or hotels and places to visit to make me feel better.  Today I found this wonderful arrangement of potted herbs.  I think its a impressive way to display fresh herbs and another great way to save money because I am forever buying fresh herbs and then letting them rot in the fridge.

HAPPY FRIDAY!!  xo

First post of 2010! It's a fresh start.

Happy New Year friends and family!!!

I'm back.  Ryan and I had a wonderful trip to the UK.  I can't wait to share a few of our pictures and details of the trip with you.  This may take a few days.  You know how it is after you've been away for a few weeks... hectic and exhausted!!

Today I want to start 2010 off with one of my favourite quotes.

I wish all of you a very happy, healthy and successful 2010!!  Make sure to take a step back every once in a while to take in those breathtaking moments and remember that life is what we make of it.  Enjoy!

She hit it out of the park for me

"You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try."
Dolly Parton

I read this quote in the latest edition of Style at Home.  It is featured on a bedroom wall of home owners Chad Farquharson and Wayne McGill.  Normally you see chalkboard paint used in the kitchen, a play room or an office.  I thought it very brilliant of them to paint the wall behind their bed with this quote and beautiful image.

My new motto

I have just discovered a new blog by Arianna Belle.  Check it out.  It's fabulous!!  While perusing through I found this great article.   Arianna, I hope you don't mind me using your post.  It's very relevant to so many people and I think the more we share it the better.   This statement is my new motto!

Arianna quoted an article she found here by Cheryl Richardson, Life Coach.  It hit home for me and that's why I'm sharing it with you.

"We all get caught up in drama at one time or another. It comes in many forms. Sometimes the drama occurs in our minds -obsessing over something we did in the past, worrying about whether or not we'll get an outcome we desire, or overthinking a problem to death. You know you're caught up in drama when you feel a sense of ongoing, emotional entaglement in a situation - a circumstance that seems to take over your life.

While there are some events that will take time to get resolved, that doesn't mean that you have to suffer. If drama is on your plate, a few things you can do: (1) stop talking about it since doing so only gives more energy to the problem; (2) identify the button pushers -oftentimes drama is fueled by unresolved past issues that get stirred up by present-day problems; (3) visualize a successful outcome for all those involved -put energy into the solution.

There's an old saying that you can't have a war when one side doesn't show up. Be that side. Do what you have to to address the situation and then walk away from the drama. Not only do you give yourself (and the problem) the greatest chance for a successful outcome, more important, you protect your peace of mind - the most valuable gain of all."

Arianna, thank you again for such a great post and introducing me to Cheryl.  Have a great weekend everyone!!

Is your glass half full or half empty?

I found this quote on La Dolce Vita's site.  I love reading the inspirational quotes Paloma posts.  This one stands out to me.  It might be my frame of mind right now.

Thanks for the reminder Paloma!  I'm printing it off and putting it at my desk for me to look at when the day seems like it will never end or another negative thought enters my mind.  :)

I hope everyone had a great day!  Enjoy your evening.
