This is where I would like to be heading home to. Check out the tub in architect Keith Summerour’s personal Meriwether county retreat! A beautiful soaker tub with sparkle! If I had one in my bathroom I would sit in it for hours every day. I might even sit outside it just to admire it. Ryan might start to think I had a problem if I spent that much time in the bathroom but I wouldn't care. I would have that tub. :)
I also want to point out the huge table lamps. I love the shape of the wooden base and the simple shade. They're perfect. I'm dreaming up different types of rooms styles that I would use them in.
How many more days until the first day of spring? I'm craving warm weather! Maybe I'll do a little spring inspiration post this week.

Scottish Highlights
We arrived back on Saturday afternoon and I've been busy trying to organize myself ever since! I love the fresh start a new year can bring. Especially this year. This is an exciting time for us. After returning from a two week trip to the UK we are headed to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the Ice Wine Festival (a very thoughtful wedding gift from our good friend Blair), then I'm off to Montreal for a sales conference. Finally, when I return we will start the process of looking for a house! Woohoo!! :) 2010 is going to be a GREAT year! I'll be sure to keep you posted on the house hunt. Now it's time to recap our trip (part 1).
We had a fantastic time in Scotland visiting family and touring a bit of the country. It was Ryan's first trip to the UK and he has fallen inlove with Scotland (especially Edinburgh!). We spent eight days in Saltcoats (35 minutes north of Glasgow) as our base and took day trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and a bit of the Highlands.
My uncle Gerry loves his camera and is very good at capturing every moment! This is us minutes after arriving at Glasgow airport. Notice the flask? It's full of whiskey. Gerry made us take a swig of it as a welcome to Scotland and to warm us up. It lead to many more drinks over the eight days.
The Royal Mile is in the back ground. It's the road that leads up to the castle from the city.

This is my Aunt Ann & Uncle Gerry and me in Loch Lomand.
This is Daisy. She is the best dog in the world! The perfect size, calm and doesn't shed her hair. Sorry Cooper but I've fallen for another dog. ADORABLE!!
Here we are outside of a cafe in Loch Lomond with my Aunt Ann.
This is inside the cafe. It was gorgeous, warm, cozy and served the biggest most delicious scones! The staff also had to wear kilts. Who doesn't love to see a man in a kilt?!
Ah, look at that view of Loch Lomond... Stunning.
Here is Ryan in Edinburgh with the castle in the background.

Pictured below is Aran island. This is the view from most points in Saltcoats. Breathtaking! This photo was taken from the Hydro (where my Ann & Gerry work out).
Cute couple! :)
This is the Hydro. Can you imagine going to workout here every day and then getting to walk along the shore with the gorgeous view above?
We celebrated Hogmanay (New Years Eve) with my cousin Fiona her husband Dennis, their kids Amy and James, new friends Pamela, Craig and their kids. I miss you all so much!
Fiona, Dennis, Amy and James hanging out after Dennis cooked us the most delicious Indian meal.
This photo was taken on our way to the airport. We woke up that morning to about 6 inches of snow. The UK has received more snow and the coldest temperatures it's felt in 100 years. It was insane! Normally it's quite a green country with maybe a dusting of snow in December. It looked so beautiful.
Leaving Scotland was difficult. It was so good to see my family. Unfortunately, we don't get to see them very often. I wish that could change. I miss you all so much already. It was wonderful to see you!!! Ryan and I can't thank you enough for making us feel at home. xoxo
p.s. Fiona you better show up in 2011!!! :)
I will recap on our trip to London later in the week. Right now I need to relax while catching up on my shows. :)

First post of 2010! It's a fresh start.
Happy New Year friends and family!!!
I'm back. Ryan and I had a wonderful trip to the UK. I can't wait to share a few of our pictures and details of the trip with you. This may take a few days. You know how it is after you've been away for a few weeks... hectic and exhausted!!
Today I want to start 2010 off with one of my favourite quotes.

LEAVING ON A JET PLANE!
This will be my last post of 2009. We are off to Scotland & England for a two week holiday. Ryan has never been to the UK. I use to live in London, England. I'm very excited to go back to see family, friends and tour my old stomping grounds.
For now, I'll leave you with these beautiful shots.

Christmas Essentials
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
I'm in Kingston enjoying time with family and friends. This will be my last post of 2009 because I'm headed to the UK for a two week holiday with my hubby. We'll be visiting family and touring Scotland for 9 days and then enjoying the sites in London, England. We are very excited!! I can't wait to share the pictures with you when we return.
For now, I will leave you with my Christmas essentials…
1. Champagne and orange juice for Christmas morning & Bailey's for Christmas Eve.
2. Brand new comfy PJs.
4. My family all together! I missed Christmas Eve & morning last year. We spent it with my in-laws (who I love) but it just wasn't the same. I'm such a traditional girl and don't like change much.
5. The famous Doyle stuffing/dressing. It's honestly the absolute best!!! I'll give you the recipe later.
6. Gifts for my family. I can't wait to see their faces light up!! :)
7. A dog bone to keep Cooper occupied while we enjoy a drool free zone. (This is him looking at my sister like she was crazy for leaving him out in the snow. He's a big baby!)

Here is a picture of all of us a few summers ago. I don't have a more recent family picture with Ryan in it.

8. White Christmas playing in the background. I love Bing! (Here is a shot of one of my favourite scenes. It makes me giggle just thinking about it.)
That's all I can think of at the moment. Most of this is trivial. What matters is that we are all healthy and together. I am very blessed! I have a good job, a supporting family, a very loving husband (I can't believe we've been married 8 months now!), a cozy apartment, I can afford to travel and I have the best friends you can ask for.
Thank you to all of you for reading my blog. When I started this I had no idea where it would take me. The last four months have been wonderful! I look forward to what it will bring in 2010. XO
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

A House that's Ready for Christmas
The day has gotten away from me already. It's the last day of work for 2009. I'm officially on holiday for 2 1/2 weeks in just one hour! :)
I've been dying to show you my aunt's house in Virginia. Doesn't it look wonderful!! Now normally I would say a little snow would be perfect but after a week of -10 (FREEZING COLD!!!!!!!!) I really want a hot green Christmas.

Wall Murals
Today I have no time to write so it's all about pretty rooms with great wall murals. xo
Check out the first one. I love the combination of grey blue with gold. It's so elegant.
